There are four ways to file your micro-enterprise OÜ annual report, at four price points. Part of the guide: Filing the Estonian annual report

How much does an Estonian annual report cost?

There are four ways to file your micro-enterprise OÜ annual report, at four price points. An accountant for a single report: €120–430. A monthly accounting service: €708–3,600 per year. Doing it yourself: free in money, 4–16 hours in time. nosweat.finance: €49, one time, no subscription.

Here is each option in detail — what you get, what you pay, and who it suits.

What does an accountant cost?

An accountant does the work for you. A single annual report usually costs €120–430, depending on transaction volume and how complex your company is. The range is based on publicly available accounting-firm prices for companies without a monthly bookkeeping contract. The Estonian Association of Accountants (Eesti Raamatupidajate Kogu, ERK) puts the average hourly rate at €25–50, and one micro-enterprise report takes an experienced accountant 2–4 hours.

The catch is the subscription. Many accountants do not sell a one-off report — they sell a monthly retainer: €100–300 per month, or €1,200–3,600 per year. If you run an active business with monthly transactions, that is justified. If you have a handful of transfers per month and genuinely need only one report a year, you are paying for twelve months of service you use once.

Who it suits: companies with employees, VAT obligations, loans, or many transactions. The more complex your bookkeeping, the more an accountant earns their fee.

What does a monthly service cost?

Service providers aimed at e-residents and digital companies (Xolo, for example) charge from €59 per month — €708 per year — bundling ongoing bookkeeping with the annual report. Companio charges €250–1,000 per year for the annual report. These make sense if you want someone keeping your books in order all year.

The same logic applies: if your company has no monthly activity, you are paying for a full year's package to get one report.

How much does DIY cost?

In money: €0. In time: it depends on the number of transactions.

Fewer than 50 transactions a year — a typical one-owner consultancy — takes 4–8 hours the first time: analysing the bank statement, categorising each transaction, building the balance sheet, and entering it on the portal. 50–200 transactions: 8–16 hours. Over 200, consider a tool or an accountant.

Beyond time, DIY has a language cost. The portal (ettevotjaportaal.rik.ee) is in Estonian only. The RTJ standards are in Estonian. The Raamatupidamise seadus (Accounting Act) is in Estonian. If you want to learn the mechanics, file your annual report yourself walks through the whole process; e-Residents and non-residents can follow the guide for e-Residents.

Who it suits: if you have time, few transactions, and the willingness to learn the rules.

What does nosweat.finance cost?

€49. One time. No subscription.

Upload your bank statement, review the categorised transactions, check the numbers, and download the XBRL file. The report is ready to upload to ettevõtjaportaal in about 15 minutes. You sign and submit it yourself.

You pay once, for the report you need once a year. Next year you pay €49 again — or you do not, if you do it yourself then. For the months in between, you pay nothing.

Which option is right for you?

The honest answer: it depends on you.

If you have employees on payroll or you are VAT-registered, talk to an accountant — your bookkeeping is too complex for a one-off tool.

If your company is simple (one owner, service revenue, a moderate number of transactions) and you want it handled without a monthly fee, nosweat.finance is built for exactly that.

If you have the time and the inclination, do it yourself — free.

What to watch for

Price is not the only factor. Before you decide, check three things:

  • Does the service cover your case? Loans, multiple accounts, multiple currencies, dividends — not every tool supports them.
  • Is it one-time or a subscription? Read the pricing carefully. "From €X" often means per month.
  • Who signs and submits? No tool files the report for you — signing with your digital ID and submitting on the portal is always yours to do.
