the Filing Radar and Business Register open data

the Filing Radar is a public statistics page showing Estonian company annual report filing status based on Business Register open data. this section answers the most common questions about where the data comes from, how fresh it is, and how to check your own company's status — useful context for e-residents keeping track of their Estonian OÜ's compliance.

What is the Filing Radar?

The Filing Radar is a public statistics page by nosweat.finance showing Estonian company annual report filing statistics. The data is based on e-Business Register open data. The Filing Radar is not RIK or an official RIK service.

How often is the Filing Radar data updated?

Statistics (report counts, shares, median) update monthly when the Business Register publishes its month-end snapshot. Company-level status (whether a report has been filed) updates based on daily open data. Each page's footer shows the data date.

Where does the Filing Radar data come from?

All data comes from the e-Business Register's open data. nosweat.finance processes and calculates statistics based on this data. The authoritative source is always the e-Business Register (ariregister.rik.ee).

What licence is the Filing Radar data shared under?

The source data is Business Register open data, licence CC BY-SA 4.0. Statistics processed by nosweat.finance and the downloadable CSV are also published under CC BY-SA 4.0 licence. You are free to use them with attribution.

What does "financial year unknown" mean in the Filing Radar?

For some entities, the financial year start and end cannot be determined from the Business Register open data because their registry card has no financial year entry — mostly apartment associations. No deadline is calculated for them and they are not counted as obligated: they appear neither among on-time filers, late filers nor non-filers. Their number is shown as a separate note.

Can I check whether my company's report has been filed on the Filing Radar?

Yes, enter your company's registry code (8 digits) or name in the checker field. You will see whether the report has been filed and when the deadline is. Data is based on Business Register open data and may be up to one day old.

What does "obligated" mean in the Filing Radar?

Obligated means a commercial company (OÜ, AS, TÜH, UÜ, TÜ, SE) or non-profit association (MTÜ, KÜ, SA) that was on the register (status R) on the reporting year's own filing deadline and is still present in the open data today (registered, in liquidation or in bankruptcy), and whose financial year can be determined from its registry card and has ended. Sole proprietors (FIE) are excluded because they are not required to file an annual report with the Business Register. An entity founded in the second half of a year counts as obligated for that year only if it has filed that year's report — otherwise an extended first financial year is assumed (Accounting Act § 13 (2)). The deadline is the financial year end plus six months; a deadline falling on a weekend or public holiday moves to the next working day. An entity already struck off the register before its own deadline does not count as obligated for that year. Entities fully struck off the register since a year's deadline are not counted: they appear in the Filing Radar as neither obligated nor filed, whether or not they filed. The effect grows for older years, so the on-time shares for older years are likely overstated.
